APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR UNION CARPENTER APPRENTICE PROGRAM

The Carpenters’ Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee of Greater Pennsylvania will be accept applications for Residential Carpenters at

The Carpenter Training Center, 222 Second St., Neville Island, PA 15225.
Every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

and at the

The Carpenter Training Center, 625 Main St., Gallitzin, PA 16641
First Wednesday of every month from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

(Applications will be accepted beginning November 2006 for classes which will begin in June 2007)

APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED IN PERSON. APPLICANTS WILL BE TOLD WHEN TO RETURN FOR TESTING.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 17 years old (persons who will graduate by June 2006 are eligible to apply).
  • Be a high school graduate or hold a G.E.D. certificate.
  • Be physically capable of performing the work of the trade.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and suitable transportation.
  • Indicate interest, desire and willingness to learn.
  • Be available for full time employment if accepted into the Program.
  • A non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 payable by CHECK OR MONEY ORDER is required at the time of application.
  • Applicants must reside in one of the following counties; Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Mifflin, Potter, Somerset, Venango, Warren, Washington & Westmoreland.
  • Upon receiving an offer of apprenticeship, the applicant will be required to pay a portion of the cost of a physical examination by a doctor or doctors selected by the Committee (which will include testing for substance abuse).
  • This is a training opportunity; The Joint Apprenticeship Committee or its Board of Trustees DOES NOT AND CAN NOT guarantee full time employment. Employment, when available, will be through the Greater PA Regional Council of Carpenters as provided for in the Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • The recruitment, selection and employment of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of age, color, race, religion, national origin, sex, or non-job related disabilities. The sponsor takes affirmative measures to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and operates the Apprentice Program according to Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulation, Part 30 and the Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations of the State of Pennsylvania

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THEIR VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $25.00 AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
